I Did It!

Got my hair cut Fri and I LOVE IT! Its so much easier to blow-dry and style. It's so much cooler... I just all around love it. Its so fun when you get a new hair style and you get to play around with it. You feel like a different person. FUN!

Let Freedom Ring

OK lets see where to start?? things have been crazy around here. Last Thursday D and I went w/ my sister and her husband to the Sugarland concert and it was a lot of fun!! HOT but fun! Sugarland put on a great concert and had tons of energy. Crazy finding out michael jackson had died while we were there. Then Fri D and I were off so we could spend some time w/ J before he went to his Namaw's (grandma's). We took J to the river walk and he decided that he wanted to run and swim in the river yuk! Needless to say he had a ball playing in the river and lucky for us I had a change of clothes for him in the car.... I guess we have a Michael Phelps on our hands ( he he j/k) So then we met up w/ Namaw and off they went. D and I rode around town for a while looking at houses for sale, yes we want to move one day but probably not anytime soon. we just absolutely love riding around looking at prices of different houses and daydreaming... Then we went to the movies and saw The Proposal. It was funny and cute but not worth the money. We should have just waited till it came out on DVD and rented it... So we called to check on J and they were having a great time playing... Funny story. So Namaw's church was having their VBS commencement that night so J went and played on the water slide and had homemade ice cream and all kinds of goodies. Well you know how at each commencement the kids get up in front of the church and sing the songs they've learned. Well apparently J wasn't happy w/ having to seat on the seats and listen so he took off before Namaw could catch him,ran down the church aisle and stood up there w/ the other kids and danced..Man I wish we could have seen it! :) Someone was taping it so maybe we can get a copy of it. Any-who the rest of J and Namaw's weekend went well. They bottle fed calves,rode the 4-wheeler,feed cows, fed the dog lots of treats :) . I know J had a great time getting to run around the farm and I think he wore NaMaw out he he..... D and I got a lot of yard work done and a lot of house cleaning done.. not the most fun but it was definitely stuff that needed to be done. I for sure enjoyed getting to sleep in until 10:30 ;) but we missed out lil' man and are both glad he is home safe. D had the choir show at church last night. he said it went really well. I'm sad I missed it cause I love the 4Th of July show but J was sleeping. Maybe next year! Hope everyone had a great weekend and can't wait for the 4Th weekend! I get to be off again Fri yippee!

Sorry for such a long post-this is what happens when you don't have Internet at home and so you have to put a whole weekends worth of news in one post.

I Don't Want to If you don't want to...

WELL I WANT TO!!! GO see SuGaRlAnD! and thats exactly what i'm going to go and do tonight! YIPEE!!! (don't worry i'm not excited or anything) Actually I am. I'm going w/ D my sister and her husband. Can't wait! Hmm remember I do have a 2 yr old so I rarely get out much... Anyways I just wanted to say how excited I was.
P.S. J has a lil' cough. Hopefully it will be okay cause he's staying w/ D's cousin tonight. I've given him medicines and a breathing treatment so i'm praying we got it under control before it gets any worse. Oh and i'm getting my haircut next week. I was going to do it this week but there is just too much going on. No i'm not chickening out I just can't add anything more to my schedule right now. PROMISE.

Bad Hair Day

So I know i'm supposed to do not me monday's today but i'm just too tired to write a whole lot. hope everyone had a great fathers day. I know we had a lot of fun sat at my grandparents and then a great relaxing day at home sunday. So i'm thinking of getting a new hair cut and this is what i've found so far. Any comments or suggestions? Don't be shy tell me honestly :)

Life's a Dance.. You Learn as You Go

So this blog I follow which is an amazing read... mycharmingkids.net does this post called Not Me Monday. I've always really enjoyed reading her stories about this so I thought that I would give it a try. Now for all of you out there who think I'm a perfect mother and do everything as is ( ha ha yea right) some of these confessions might come as shock. But try and remember that these things happen out of LOVE :)

So the point of this is to post things that us perfect mothers would absolutely never do cause that would just downright be awful and it would also mean our reputations for being the best parent would be tarnished and we might actually be just like every other parent out there and that would just be no good at all. Ha Ha I'm just kidding I know I'm not anywhere near perfect and never will be....

I absolutely would not take my son to get his haircut by someone I had never used before in hopes that if she was good then I could use her as my hairstylist. I would never use my son as a guinea pig

I of course took tons of pictures last week when my son did in fact get his hair cut. for the second time. cause you know it would be a shame and not like me at all to not take any pics all the while the camera is in fact in the car I just didn't feel like getting it out (I still have yet to take any pics of his haircut last week (GASP!)

I most certainly did not leave a whole pile of goldfish in my car for almost a week after J spilled them out of the bag.

And I most certainly did not scoop up some of these goldfish to feed to J to keep him content while he got his hair cut since I haven't restocked his diaper bag of snacks for about 3 weeks now. Do goldfish even go bad?

I also of course have not forgot to brush my sons teeth for the past 2 days that would just be so un-hygental of me (word?)... no worries we'll do better w/ the the permanent ones when they come in.We're just practicing w/ these ha ha

I of course would never let my son continue to take a bath in the water that he had just peed in.. that would be just down right disgusting ( gotta love potty training)

Sadly I have more to mention I just don't feel like completely wiping away my reputation all at one time. I'll save some for next week

Summer Lovin'

Summer... Ahh! what a wonderful word. Picture this:
42 oz coke freeze (that I got for 99 cents)
beautiful warm weather
shade w/ nice enough breeze to make the heat comfortable
wonderful study book about god's grace
total and utter silence

This was my lunch break and it was just this wonderful! I usually do my bible study on my lunch break cause as much as I tell myself that I'll do my lesson at night it just never happens. By the time I get home, dinner, bath for j, clean house,laundry I'm just pooped! I crash on the couch and pretty much pass out. Getting up early in the morning to do my lesson just isn't going to happen. Sorry. I am so not a morning person.let's face it the more sleep I get the more appreciative everyone around me is :) So lunch time just works perfectly. Its so hard to find time for my lessons or scripture. Even finding time talking w/ God is hard. I've been just reading my bible but have found lately that I'm distracted from this and have been praying for another option to keep me motivated (i know its bad to be distracted from reading your bible but I need something to follow along w/ and keep me in check or I won't do it) I have been looking at Barnes & Noble for some sort of book to follow along but low and behold, prayer answered. At Sunday school yesterday we got our study books on GRACE and I just love it! Some of the books we do I just can't follow or don't get into but this one is Amazing! Its by Richard Blackaby. Its just a simple basic in your face book which I love. You have to be very basic w/ me and put it in simple terms and that's just what this book is. AMEN! I love seeing God answer prayers. Sorry such a long post I'm just really excited!

School's Out for Summer!

What a FUN weekend! D was supposed to work but ended up not having to so we had a fabulous family fun weekend.Saturday morning we went and played on the Quad (pictures to come later) J and D had fun tormenting I mean playing w/ the squirrels. Poor J tried so hard to catch him a lil' squirrel but no such luck. Maybe next time. Then we went to Rama Jama's for breakfast and it was soo GOOD! As usual :) Its such a fun family atmosphere and we had fun just hanging out and eating good food. Then J fell asleep on the way home so we took advantage of this break and did some much needed housework. D mowed and cleaned up the jungle that is our backyard and I worked on the inside. I got to put up my laundry organizer which is soo great! The backyard looks really good now so we're going to start working on putting play things in there for J. My mind is just racing w/ tons of ideas!!! Then when J woke up we cooked a fabulous lunch and then headed to the pool!! Any thoughts we had of J being afraid of the water went straight out the window. J would go under the water and come back up then go right back under. Scared me half to the death the first 20 times he did it then after that I was like Agh whatever he'll come back up. But we had soo much fun! We stayed for like 3 hours YIPEE!! Needless to say J was in bed at like 6 :) Then Sunday we went to church then hung out and cleaned a lil' more then we went to our church's VBS block party and had lots of fun(no pics) I think J's teeth might rot out from all the junk he ate but other than that a good time was had by all! Exhausting weekend but worth every minute!!!

OH....Girls Just Wanna Have Fun...

So I took the day off yesterday to spend some much needed fun time w/ my Lil' Sis (Really she's 16 but still Lil' to me:) It was such a fun time! T and I spent some time w/ our Memaw which was fun... we went to lunch w / our other sister D and that was a lot of fun. We picked on each other and laughed a whole lot which are 2 of my favorite things to do :) he he T and I went to get pedicures and that was a lot of fun. Except those massage chair thingys that they had hurt my back. It was like digging into me and I couldn't figure out how to turn it off. But anyways we had fun. Thnx T for picking out my nail polish color. What would I have done w/o you? Blue ?purple? what color is it?? :) I rode w/ T which was interesting. Surprisingly she is a better driver than I thought.. Sorry T. I only got whiplash once.... :) Also if the world ever shut down we could totally live in T's car for like 3 weeks. and also have the cutest clothes everyday. She has enough clothes and food to last for forever in her car. ha ha! but I can't say too much cause mines definetly not the cleanest. All in all it was a great fun day! Too bad I had to come back to work the next day.. D picked up J for me cause I didn't get on the road until later than I expected cause of the bad storm so anyways I was like 10 mins after D getting home and D told me that J was asleep in his crib. D said J tried so hard to stay awake on the way home but he just couldn't make it. How pitiful... but he was in such a great mood this morning(considering he slept 13 hours)
Can't wait for a warm weekend. Saturday is supposed to be nice and warm. D is working so I might try and take J to the pool yeah! We'll see. I haven't ever taken him by myself. then sunday we have the VBS block party at our church. Several of the churches around ours get together and have a huge block party to kick off Vacation Bible School. I'll be volunteering and D is going to take J around to play w/ all the fun stuf. Any-whoo thats my long post.

P.S. J is feeling much better! YEAH! D picked J up early Tuesday and when I called Tues to check on him to see how they were doing D said oh J is fine he's trying to drink the water out of the fish tank. Seriously? Thats a mental image for you ha ha

Gotta Keep On .....Keep On.... Keep on....Singing

So lets go back the last 24 hours:
J woke up w/ a cough yesterday morning poor thing. Well When I picked him up yesterday they told me that he didn't really eat well and that he was not in the best of moods :( So.. we get home he played outside w/ our neighbors son and D for a while while I got dinner ready. Then he comes inside and decides to pull out every pot and pan out of my cabinet. See picture By the way those pots and pans are still sitting in my living room floor :( Sad I know

So then I get J into the bath get him relaxed we sit on the couch put some cartoons on and proceed to give J his breathing treatment to help stop his nasty cough. Well at one point he got mad having to sit still and was tired of the mask so he decided to throw his sippy cup. The cup that is made of very heavy durable plastic. Well when he rared back to throw it he let go and it hit D square in the nose. It cut his nose and started bleeding :( Well we lay J down about 7:30 then we both crash... that is until about 12 when J wakes up coughing and can't stop. So we get up get his breathing machine and start on another treatment. Well we sing him songs sometimes so that he will be calm and sit in my lap. By the way he was so pitiful last night. He just kept curling up in my lap and hugging on me. I know he's sick but it was so sweet. So anyways we start singing , which i'm impressed w/how many songs we remembered at 12 in the morning.. I would sing for a while and then start to fade and then D would pick up where I would slow down and we did this for the entire breathing treatment (about 25 mins).At one point when we were running out of songs d starts singing "99 bottles of JUICE on the wall" Well the medicines sometimes make J wired so he was up and ready to play. Well D went to bed and I let J play in the living room until 2. I let him wear himself out.... So I laid him back down at 2 and he was up again at 6 coughing... Bless his heart. I gave him another treatment and some more medicine so hopefully we can get this under control before he gets worse. Stinky asthma. Anytime he gets a Lil' cough it turns into so much more. He's just so pitiful. Hopefully his day will go okay today. I told his teachers all about his problems and one of his teachers has a daughter w/ asthma and does breathing treatments so she knows exactly what to look for. D and I are pretty wired right now but I'm sure by 3 we'll be ready to crash. I ask for prayers for J and his cough and for D and I to make it through the day and night. Looking back I can't for the life of me figure out how D and I would get up all throughout the night when J was a baby. I'm sure we slept walk most of the time :)

Its been a While

Wow its been a while since I've last posted. Sometimes I'll post twice in a day and then sometimes I go for a week in b/w. Crazy. Any-who Lets see what has been going on in the last week. Well I had a root canal done Tues(yes a root canal YIKES) I battled w/ that ALL WEEK! The pain really started Monday but of course all no one was open cause of memorial day so I suffered through the pain until I could get in to see the dentist Tues. Well they did the root canal which actually the process wasn't too bad. A little laughing gas, numbing medicine and I was good to go. The bad part is when I went home and all the numbing meds wore off. Oh my that pain I felt for the next few days was worse than having J. I would have him again w/ no meds than to have to go through the pain I went through. Sat was the first day that I wasn't in pain. YIPPEE! This weekend we went to see D's niece get baptized.. it was amazing! What a blessing to be able to be there for such a wonderful experience. She had soo much family there and it was so great to be a part of that.
J has been doing great. Growing like a weed for sure. He is just all over the place now. He is such a boy its ridiculous. Anything he can climb,flip over, crawl through you name it he will try it :) I'm thinking of having his 2ND birthday with those giant inflatable things that you bounce it. Seems like a perfect place to let him bounce his little heart out.He is talking up a storm. Don't know what he's saying half the time but its still fun to listen :) He is adding new words to his vocabulary ever day it seems like. You should hear him say please.. its just precious. Hmm video idea :) "Potty introducing" is going well. He still will go and sit on it every once in a while. He hasn't atually used the potty just yet but thats ok. We're not actually starting the training yet, we're just still introducing it to him. We won't really start till' August. Just trying to get used to it.
J stayed w/ his Namaw last weekend and of course had a blast. Its so great to be close enough to our family that he can go and stay w/ his grandma for the weekend. I love that he is so close w/ her and they have such a good time. Of course D and I missed him like crazy but we definitely enjoyed our down time. We went to the softball game and shopped around and had a nice quiet dinner out. Its so weird when you do actually go out to eat w/o said child your constantly aware of all the other children that are around you and watching them and then constantly talking about your own lol there is no escape! :)
